AIIMS PG - January 2018 session - registration issues

We have sent a space probe to Mars and we still struggle to manage an online application process of the most reputed Medical institute of our country. Is it a matter of shame or a matter of sham ?

Yesterday (12.09.2017) thousands of AIIMS PG aspirants had the misfortune to go through the traumatic experience of AIIMS PG registration for January 2018 session. Link went live by 10 PM on 12.09.2017 and 24 hours later, thousands of doctors, who should have been busy saving lives, were still kept busy in saving their application form!!!

There was a glitch in the way dates were handled in the software, which was causing the failure to save the data. For many (every one I know), the birth date was messed up (with interchanged day and month values) and this created confusion and panic as the birthday field was not allowed to edit again. Many aspirants created additional accounts on the fear of application rejection and also on fear of losing out their convenient choice of exam centre.

Now some concerns which we feel is of utmost importance to be clarified to the aspirants are

1. Why such an easy to find and critical issue went unnoticed during SW verification and validation.

2. Why no official notification was released when the application form was throwing error from the beginning. (would have helped to avoid panic, mental trauma and money loss)

3. What would be the fate of the additional amount spent by aspirants during this panic phase, on additional registrations? This happened because the final registration page showed a wrong date (due to the technical glitch) and there was no provision to edit the field. No official communication was released on this matter for guidance.

Faithfully,

Someone who survived the application process with emotional/time/financial casualties.
