The ongoing Indian Super League & I-League season is the first instance where two simultaneous top division leagues are running at the same time with 10 teams each in both the leagues. The standard of the referees in the both these leagues has been questioned ever since the season got underway. Substandard decisions by the officials which can be termed no less than blunders have cost the teams greatly. There have been several instances when the decisions taken have been so poor that managers and even the owners have been forced to criticize the referees.
If you were to list down specific instances of the poor refereeing in both these leagues, it would go on to form an extensive list. However, I would like to list a few recent ones that come to my mind. I request all of you to kindly mention the refereeing blunders against the team you support in the comments so that we can have a comprehensive list.
02nd February 2018 Minerva Punjab vs Churchill Brothers
Osagie Monday slid in with a two-footed challenge inside the box on Opoku – No penalty awarded.
Sukhdev Singh tackled Mechak Koffi inside the box which seemed to be a dive – Penalty Awarded.

07th January 2018 Delhi Dynamos vs Chennaiyin FC
90+3: Score DDDFC 2-2 CFC Through ball for Guyon, he's one on one with the keeper in a scoring position inside the box & refree blows the whistle. It was exactly 93:13 on the clock.
14th December 2017 Chennai City FC vs Minerva Punjab
Pradeep Mohanraj of CCFC comes up with one of the most dangerous challenges and strikes with his foot directly on the face of a Minerva player still gets away with a yellow. You can hear the commentators as well wondering how it was not a straight red for such a career-threatening challenge.

There are many other games that I didn’t see or errors which I might not remember. I request you to kindly post the errors you remember as comments. Here are a few media reports on this subject:
To sum it up I would like to make a few points:
1. Why should be the passionate team managers/ owners be suspended/fined for merely speaking out the truth about the substandard refereeing in the Indian Leagues?
2. Why can’t there be a performance review of the referees and the sub-standard ones penalized as a consequence of their wrong decisions?
IF WE WANT INDIAN FOOTBALL TO IMPROVE, THE ENTIRE ECOSYSTEM MUST IMPROVE INCLUDING THE PLAYERS, FANS, THE COACHING STAFF THE SUPPORT STAFF & THE OFFICIALS.
NO INDIAN FOOTBALL FAN WHO SUPPORTS HIS TEAM WITH ALL HIS HEART SHOULD BE RIPPED OFF HIS HAPPINESS BECAUSE OF A POOR REFEREEING DECISION. ONE PENALTY AWARDED CAN CHANGE THE GAME ALL- TOGETHER. HENCE THE NEED OF THE HOUR IS A PERFORMANCE REVIEW AND TO SELECT DILIGENT REFEREES TO OFFICIATE IN THE I-LEAGUE/ISL. AN OCCASIONAL ERROR CAN BE EXCUSED BY THE FANS WHO'VE GOT HUGE HEARTS BUT NOT THE REGULAR BLUNDERS THAT ARE BEING COMMITTED.
SIGN IF YOU AGREE & COMMENT THE REFEREEING BLUNDERS AGAINST YOUR TEAM!!!
