In comparison to our surrounding counties (Whitfield County for example) with comparable revenue and population there is absolutely zero reason our Parks and Rec for FLOYD County should be a for profit "authority". Specifically due to cost of sign up fees, no equiptment provided to coaches and kids,  paying to get into rec football games and lack of renovations, upkeep and upgrades of gyms, fields and courts.

Whitfield County (which is not an authority aka ran by County and not for profit) uses 1% of the County's budget to cover all of their expenses for the entire year INCLUDING equipment for the coaches and players. Whitfield County does NOT charge to get into regular season games. Whitfield County registration cost... $32! On top of that.. the upkeep and upgrades of their properties.

Rome Floyd Parks and Rec fees (regular registration) 

Baseball/softball/basketball (which all are current season with updated fee cost unlike football) $80

Football (which I am sure will increase before registration opens because it use to cost the most) $65

None of these include ANY equipment
