Why this petition matters

We the undersigned believe the Governor's Executive Order to be unconstitutional. According to the Declaration of Independence, His (the government's) most basic duty is to protect the God given rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Property or Happiness for the citizens of Pennsylvania. His order for people to stay in their homes and not work unless HE classifies their life's work as essential tramples on those rights and is "oppressive and unreasonable."
We need all of our locally elected officials to protect the rights of their constituents by standing against the Governor which has aimed to steal our rights. We need them to actively resist the Governor and inform him that we are restoring Washington County to pre-executive order status.
This list may not be exhaustive however here are the points which we are using to request that you adhere to your oath and stand for our God given rights:
1.) What is the purpose of Government? The Declaration reads, “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” I did/do not give my consent to being ordered to stay in my home. Fill in the blank with your concern. It goes on to say that it is our right and duty to stand up to unjust government. (The governor should be asking how he can combat his perceived disaster while ensuring that our rights are protected. His order shows that he is not interested in protecting our rights.)
2.) “Article 1, Section 1 reads: “All Legislative power resides in Congress.” If ALL legislative power resides in Congress, how much legislative power does that leave for the Governor? The answer is none. Based on this, he cannot legislate. He cannot make law.
3.) Article 4, Section 4 reads, “The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government…” If the people, via our representatives, had no input, but instead, the Governor issued an Executive Order without consulting the legislature, how is the Executive Order not unconstitutional?
4.) 14th Amendment, Section 1: “No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law. ” The due process clause…restricts only the Federal Government. Orders to stay at home, private business to close, employees: you cannot work: those are an abridgement of life, liberty, and property.
5.) "But under the Constitution, individuals have rights in quarantine and isolation conditions." Under the 5th and 14th Amendment’s rights of Due Process and Equal Protection, public health regulations used to impose such conditions can’t be “arbitrary, oppressive and unreasonable.” How can telling Americans to stay in their homes; don’t go to work; don’t work your business; and don’t visit loved ones not be deemed to be arbitrary, oppressive and unreasonable?
