We, the concerned residents of Lake Arrowhead Georgia, oppose a Cherokee County Zoning Variance request to increase the density of a previously platted parcel of land above the main Marina at Lake Arrowhead.

We further oppose reducing the front setback of these homes by 60% from 25’ to 10’.  It is not necessary and totally not in keeping with the rustic charm of the community and will likely create situations where large vehicles like pickup trucks and full size SUVs will protrude into the street, potentially impeding fire or rescue vehicle access.

We are also concerned that this variance request does not properly consider the water runoff effects of this development on our lake. Past history with this developer has shown us that we have good reason to be concerned.

We are concerned that this variance places additional life safety concerns regarding the already dangerous main road that these homes will be located upon. There is no provision in this request for addressing this most troubling concern.

For these reasons, we respectfully request that the Cherokee County Zoning Board of Appeals deny or table this request until our concerns are properly addressed with the County.
