Not even sure why I’m signing this? Absolutely nothing is going to be done about how bad the bullying has gotten in the TCDSB!! Dealing with the parents of the bullies is the 1st most difficult step!

Each child develops so differently and has the ability to become something or someone miraculous. Bullying destroys the potential and crushes the spirit of many people

This survivor lives with the lifelong effects of unchecked bullying, which prematurely ended my education. After intense serial bullying in grades 7 & 8 I ran away from home and spent my teen years homeless and surviving on the streets, accumulating many lifetimes' worth of unresolved trauma. I have never been able to trust anyone because I am too well acquainted with how evil people really are. Being bullied is the ultimate education in human nature. BTW, a school counselor I reached out to for help with worse than useless. He cynically advised me, and I quote verbatim, "You need to grow a thicker skin." I can very safely say my entire life was destroyed by bullying in school. I couldn't even place a dollar value on the settlement owed to me, the damage has been so far reaching. When I was younger there were suicide attempts. Even my health has been profoundly impacted. It's a crime, and an atrocity - and YOU, my fellow humans, YOU let them get away with it. Thank you so much.

This was very painful when I watched on TV and never realized so many kids go through this. When we were going to school this was something our parents taught us how to be nice to others and helpful and be respectful and it feels good to be nice etc. Whatever it is we had a great time going to school not scared of other kids.
When I hear all these issues that kids go through these days, I still do not understand where are the parents of these bullies? Why are they not responsible. Just sending them to school is not enough family has lots to do when kids are growing up. Nobody is talking about it. Principal should bring the parents to school and discuss these issues and let them know if this continues he or she will be removed from school. Have some strict policy in place. I think, the kids should be not protected by not giving the names and photos of them to public.
These kids are smart enough to know nobody can touch them due to their age and they are playing games. Others who are watching with same thinking , no action taken from school or govt they make a decision to do it before they reach certain age. It is just like we are encouraging more of this. I understand, we do not want to make them feel bad but time has changed. These kids are aggressive and have no respect for anybody or anything. What's happening now is slap on the wrist and send them home so they can watch TV and come back. How is this a lesson for doing something so horrible. Parents should get involve there should be some consequence for those bullies. These bullies are hiding behind their age so they should not be protected from public's eye. When this happens things will slowly shape up. Give parents some responsibility after all these kids need to know how to live in the future.
If we do not take care of this, they think this is normal way of living. This has to STOP,
