I too have a child with complex ASD/PDA. We were fortunate and social care helped tremendously with our case, as did health , funding an assessment at the ENC. However, I am fully aware that the majority of cases don't get the recognition they deserve and instead take the cheaper option of 'blame the parents.'This is disgraceful conduct and elicits ignorance on their part. Shame on you services!
I feel strongly that this shouldn't happen to parents that just want the correct support for their children.

I believe my 8 year old daughter has PDA but it is not recognised as a diagnosis in our area. We are three years into assessment at CAMHS and still no closer to diagnosis or support. My daughter is becoming increasingly anxious, violent and experiences self harm and suicidal thoughts.

The impact of professionals not fully understanding asd or pda is incredibly detrimental to children and families effected.
