One of the most controversial issues at elsik is dress code. Especially the ripped jeans, which every student owns and wants to wear. But the policy for ripped jeans is absurd. So I say Elsik High School should allow students to wear ripped jeans, therefore they won’t miss any valuable learning and be more well-mannared

Yesterday I wore ripped jeans and was sent to sac all day. Now I won’t be able to pass my test because the day I missed was review day. Students miss valuable learning time when they’re sent so sac. Due to that test scores will decrease and they will not be successful.

Most of the time when a student is sent to sac, they act out and disrespect the administration. But if we could tweak the dress code policy students will be more well-mannared and understanding towards administrators. Juan had an incident where his jeans had a small rip and was sent to sac. He didn't like that he was being sent to sac so therefore he acted out and now is in clc. Which in fact makes the school look like they don’t know how to discipline the students.

In Duval County, Florida, Nikki Belsham says that she’s been struggling with this rule since her daughter was in school. Shopping for her daughter is difficult, while Belsham can find appropriate clothing at the mall, it doesn’t pass the test. This is a common problem. According to the survey results, families with children in elementary through high school plan to spend an average $684.79 for each child, which is a total of $27.5 billion.

Most families don't have a high income for them to spend that amount on clothes. Is crazy how far the school can go just for a clothes. For a student to get an education it shouldn't be this complicated.

A solution would be to allow them to wear ripped jeans with leggings under, and if the students are to break the rules they will have lunch detention not be sent to sac. And with this students won’t miss valuable learning time and be more respectful.
