Algonquin is trying to move theory for all sections of the Hairstyling program from zoom to in class, to the disadvantage of many students. Even though the increased commuting will add to environmental pollution, the college wants students on campus in order to generate more income through on-campus services like Observatory and vending machines, even though this puts many of our students in precarious positions with their jobs as it will now take much more time out of our day. Algonquin already profits off of our labour in salon-ops classes, let's not let them take advantage of us more. It is clear that Algonquin has put its own financial security above that of its students and that is completely unacceptable. This position will be presented to program coordinators and the school of hospitality in order to make a case against moving on campus for theory courses.
