Our goal is to raise awareness of the increasing amount of gun related crimes, especially in Toronto. We plan to start an online petition to get enough support to change the current gun laws. With enough support, It will be easier to influence the government to pass more effective and stricter gun laws.

We request Mr. Alghabra to establish a stricter gun registry. More specifically, we want him to support proposed legislations asking all gun stores to keep a record of gun owners with a minimum of 20 years. Additionally, we request that authorities conduct a background check on a gun licence applicant’s entire life. Currently, we only look into an applicant’s 5 year history. Lastly, we want to see an introduction of automatic rejection for gun licences for past criminals and people with mental illnesses. This would prevent past criminals and people with mental illnesses that is associated with violence from committing gun crimes.
