As students of the Alfred University Community we feel as though our school has taken extreme measures to " Protect the Lux". We were not told many of these rules until after we arrived on campus, and now are being threatened with explosion if we do not comply by these rules. Other colleges are allowing students one person other than their roommate in their room and are sometimes even allowing one guest from outside the University. We as students completely understand that the University wants to protect us but the increase in mental health issues among our students is overwhelming. We feel as though we are being isolated and punished for coming to school. College is supposed to be full of amazing memories, but we are unable to create those memories seeing as though, most of us feel like we are being held prisoner. It seems like the University only cares about the money they are receiving from their students, but not the actual well being out their students.
