The Alexander City, Alabama, community currently has been left years with no access to any true community park for the residents.  After demolition of the Imagination Station years ago- this city of 15,000 residents has not a single playground for the members of the community, children, or families to utilize.

Residents, parents and youth are coming together to ask that the city council create an all inclusive playground that will be accessible for all within the compounds of the current Bailey Sportplex on the 200+ acres already existing within the city limits and on the Parks and Recreation Department responsibilities.  

Expansion of the Splashpad, additional parking, revamping and adding fishing areas to the pond, tennis court and skate park addition,  better and additional trail management, fitness areas,  addition of Girls athletic areas, as well as an all inclusive/all accessible playground are some of the requests to be included to ensure that the community and tax payers have access to creative and social interactive community programs and safe play environments.

We are asking all residents of the community to let your voices be heard, by signing the petition to request our city council make this the next major project on their agenda.  By creating a central community hub, focusing on our residents and children - our community will have a stronger infrastructure and will then be able to retain and attract new residents, along with beginning to move forward in attracting new businesses to the area.  Strengthening and growing our community by prioritizing our children,  who will be our future, will lead to the growth of our area, the economy and business districts when we have a community that supports its residents.
