Make California Affordable Again

Make California Affordable Again
Why this petition matters

My name is Sean R. Harrison, I am not a celebrity, nor am I a career politician, what I am is fed up with seeing people struggle, seeing people have to work 3-4 to jobs to make a living, fear for their safety because our leaders are releasing prisoners back onto the streets and like you, I am fed up with poor leadership. I need 7,000 signatures to be on the ballot for 2022. I would appreciate your support to make California a place we can l live in.
A full 43 percent of Californian voters, and an astounding 61 percent of those aged 18 to 34, feel they can’t afford to live in the state, according to a recent Quinnipiac University poll. And over three-quarters of voters agree that there’s a “housing crisis.”
The median value for a house in the Golden State is about $550,000, according to the real-estate website Zillow. That’s more than twice the national median. The median monthly rent for an apartment in California is $2,750, which is also about 1.75 times the national median. But it may not just be housing that’s causing residents to feel strapped. Research suggests it’s the cost of living overall.
