ALEJANDRO MAYORKAS - Director of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS): Positive and immediate review of Ivo Widlak's immigration case

Ivo Widlak is well-known and respected press, radio and television journalist serving the Polish-American community in the United States.

He currently is facing removal from the U.S. because of his journalism professionalism and integrity. The USCIS (Immigration Department) denies his wife's petition for him as a spouse and his request to change his immigration status as a result of their marriage because a day prior to his interview, it received a letter with false information from Chicago-based attorney Christopher Kurczaba alleging that Mr. Widlak is gay and his marriage is a scheme. The letter resulted in the USCIS questioning Ivo Widlak’s sexual orientation during the interview and ultimately denying the petition and sending him to Immigration Court. Ivo’s spouse has since refiled and the couple has been waiting over 9 months for a new interview.

Ivo Widlak is a truthful and trustworthy individual who has always been helpful to others as a private person as well as a journalist. During his time in Chicago, his time and talents have been devoted to many causes. He is an irreplaceable persona in the Polish-American community in Chicago as well as the rest of the country.

We the undersigned are asking Director of United States Immigration and Citizenship Services Mr. Alejandro Mayorkas as well the entire Department of Homeland Security to take a closer look at Mr. Widlak's immigration case and to schedule him for a fair and appropriate interview, in order to approve Ivo’s petition filed by his wife Laura, a US citizen, and then approve Ivo’s request to change his status to that of lawful permanent resident of the United States.
