I want to change the Aldine independent school districts dress code because the dress code isn’t fair. The girls have more dress code rules to follow and get dress coded more often than the boys. And the girls are told that we are the reason we have a dress code. The dress code is also not consistent. You can get dress coded for having ripped jeans and another girls that has on the same thing and doesn’t get dress coded and that’s not fair. I am doing this petition so the dress code can become fair and consistent. Times have changed and fashion has evolved. Fashion is a way for many people to experience themselves and we shouldn’t get in trouble for doing that for showing who we are. School tells us to be creative and express ourself and fashion is the main way we do that.
