Lately there has been issues regarding the dress code policy from Aldine ISD and its schools. Most of these issues are targeted toward women. In an attempt to speak out against such discrimination toward women we are arguing that the dress code policy should lower their standards. Making women feel as if their choice is being taken away is in no way a healthy environment to study in. As underage young adults and children, we should be given the opportunity to express ourselves in an environment that condones self expression and freedom of speech. There has been many issues reported such as asking young women to place their hands above their head just to see how short of a shirt they are wearing. It has also been reported that staff has been disrupting educational time to check if any student is breaking dress code. Many of these young women feel uncomfortable at the sight of a teacher, let it be a man or female, dress coding them. Over all we women feel like we are being told what to do with our bodies just so we don't provoke men. I hope in the near future we are able to resolve this issue and come to an equal agreement.
