Sidewalk Repair for Destruction of Rat Burrows

We, as members of OTSHA and surrounding neighborhood, are petitioning Alderman Walter Burnett, 27th ward, to schedule repairs for our sidewalk between Goethe/Sedgwick and Evergreen/Sedgwick. We have been experiencing an overwhelming rat problem in the area and have not been able to combat the rodents effectively using City Rodent Control and a Feral Cat colony. Charles Johnson with City of Chicago Water management determined that the appropriate solution is to dig up and destroy the rat burrows underneath the sidewalk spanning from the corner of Goethe/Sedgwick to Evergreen St/Sedgwick. This must be done by CDOT and we would like to have a start date scheduled as soon as possible. This recommendation was made in August of 2017 and we have still been unable to secure commitment that these repairs will be made.
Our 23 homes pay over 405,000 in taxes per year - this needs to be addressed promptly.
