ATTENTION: Unsafe crossing at Fullerton and Keystone!!!

33,400 cars pass along Fullerton here each day; CDOT states that a marked crosswalk is insufficient at unsignalized, 4-lane crossings with annual average daily traffic beyond 12,000 vehicles per day.

Requesting Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacons (RRFBs) and a refuge island (6’ wide by 40’ long) installed at this intersection so that pedestrians can cross safely and be seen by oncoming vehicles. Example shown in picture above.
A total of 631 passengers get on and off at the Healy Metra stop each day, many of these pedestrians attempt to cross this deadly crosswalk.

20 intersection-related crashes have occurred here and one pedestrian hit and critically injured over a 5 year period.

Reported crashes and injuries don’t tell the whole story!!!
