The beautiful Suffolk Coast seaside town of Aldeburgh is currently facing threats to its unique and special character from major national retailers such as Tesco. We currently have a wonderful independent business community and if we lose that, we erode away at Aldeburgh’s unique identity.
Independent shops are the lifeblood of Aldeburgh’s local economy. Money spent at our independent shops stays in our community because it is recycled locally. Research shows that money spent in independent shops circulates on average three times within a local community, where as money spent in national or international chains leaves our local economy quicker.
Aldeburgh’s independent shops and service providers support community projects. Without support from independent shops and service providers the Aldeburgh Business Association and its members would not be able to organise events such as the Aldeburgh Proms by the Sea, Hanging Baskets and the annual Christmas Lights.
Finally we wish to thank our customers for supporting us and shopping with us…without you we wouldn’t have a wonderful town to support.
