Stop spraying glyphosate on Alberta forests.

Stop spraying glyphosate on Alberta forests.
Why this petition matters

Glyphosate is a toxic herbicide that affects the health and wellbeing of our environment and it’s inhabitants. Bees in particular are vulnerable to it’s toxicity and we need to protect our most valued ally for a healthy tomorrow.
There are currently three divisions of West Mills Ltd. seeking approval to conduct vegetation management operations using glyphosate in Alberta. They wish to spray 5,854 hectares of forest, starting in August, to control the vegetative competition inhibiting conifer reforestation efforts.
This singular industry would like to alter the bio diversity of our land to increase their profit margin, add toxins to our air and soil, and add potential fire hazards to our communities by removing the broad-leafed aspen that naturally cool Alberta forests. Please join us in telling the ministry that we want our forests protected from glyphosate.
