Alaskans! Did you know, that as soon as April 15, 2022, Insurances may no longer be required to pay for medically necessary services via teletherapy?

In fact, the current Public Health Emergency (PHE) is set to have expired Jan 15, 2022.

The government originally announced the PHE in March 2020 and have extended the PHE with each extension lasting 90 days.  They have said they will only extend the PHE 1 or 2 more times.  This means the PHE may end April 15 or July 15, 2022.

Before this global pandemic we had no idea the exceptionally effective and far reaching benefits teletherapy offers for Alaskan residents and communities.  We need our Legislators to act now and require all insurances within this rural state to continue to offer teletherapy as an option for Alaskans who need and benefit from this service! "Sniffles" can stay home and snow blizzards no longer require cancellations.  Therapy that occurs every time as scheduled is much more effective at meeting treatment goals, versus therapy that misses a session every other week. COVID continues to be a huge concern as well as our unique Alaskan troubles there is no reason insurance should be allowed not to cover this necessary means of treatment delivery.

Please sign this petition and spread awareness to others by sharing this! Let others know that our Legislators are trying to quietly take away access to much needed online and LOCAL services by Alaskan providers to Alaska’s communities!
