On June 18th, 2020 the Alaskan National Guard swooped in and took a piece of Alaskan history, the bus made famous by the book and movie Into the Wild. The public was not made aware of this action and should have had a chance to weigh in on this historic decision.

This bus had sentimental and cultural value, which has been lost. Many travelers from around the world came to visit this majestic site.

It starts with this bus then what’s next? Mount Denali? Grand Canyon? We need to take a stand against the government taking away our outdoor areas.

America and Alaska  has two of the greatest park systems in the world and we must fight for it to remain that way.

This petition requests that the National Guard puts the bus back where they took it from. If it will make parks services feel better they may build a more accessible trail with markings for those who don’t want to face the challenges of the current path.
