We could have travelled outside the country to visit our closest family members but we didn't because we wanted to keep everyone safe. It is unfair that authorities have a free pass for doing whatever they want and there's no acountability for their actions.

She should know better. The fact that she chose to totally disregard Covid guidelines, shows her lack of integrity

She holds a very prestigious position representing a university with a world wide reputation of excellence. She knew what effect her actions would have on the institution when she made her choice to travel........if she got caught. Well she was caught and now she must suffer the consequences. It was her choice, not a lapse of judgement, not an oversight. She has sullied the reputation of a distinguished university and if the board does not remove her then they should resign. An apology for getting caught does not make it right.

Her actions and the boards lack of action taint Western’s reputation. There should be no double standard.

While I acknowledge her past contributions to the Western community, travelling to Barbados and not only putting the locals at risk, but disregarding efforts to fight this pandemic are an absolute slap in the face to students and alum alike. This is a thoroughly disturbing display of privilege, and deeply upsetting to see from someone (formerly) respected in the Western community. This wasn't a mistake, this was a conscious choice she made, very well aware of the severity of the pandemic.

We have been barred from in-person education for a year now, while continuing to pay full-fees for limited (or non-existence) services. However, it’s apparently okay for absurd international travel to take place with zero actionable repercussions. This is absolutely disgraceful.

I vehemently disagree with elitism, narcisism, entitlement. I believe our leaders should be role models. Fire anybody in office who left the country in the last 10 months.
