In Munford, Alabama has only one traffic light at the intersection of Cedars Road and Highway 21. It is only active from 7am til 9am and again at 2pm til 4pm, which is due to school traffic. Its the traffic that continues past those times that really cause the problems. Multiple wrecks a month happen at that intersection, you have people wanting to hit gaps between on-coming cars, either continuing across or turning left into traffic. ALDOT as stated that there is not enough traffic at that intersection to keep the traffic light active all day, but they don't understand the after school activities that are sometimes as late as 6pm when traffic is still moderately heavy. Now they are making a connection road between Priebes Mill Road and Hwy 21, not even 1/2 mile from this intersection, so the area will just get worse.
