"Prevention is better than cure"

With the onset of CoVID-19 pandemic, educational institutions had to adjust their teaching practices through online mode. AKGEC also adjusted ,to this change quickly and effectively making proper amendments for online classes to ensure the complete safety of students without affecting their studies and we (students) are grateful for that.

Yet, in the recent circular dating 24th February 2021, college commenced mandatory offline classes for first year students for the forthccoming Even Semester. Most of the students and parents are not content with college's decision due to the following reasons:

  • CoVID-19 Pandemic is far from over. The government and our Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addresses and alerts the nation regularly regarding the pandemic.
  • Cases in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are on the rise. This is not to be taken lighty as Prime Minister has called an urgent meeting with all the state CM's regarding this.
  • Many students have raised concern for their and their family's health using Public Transportation as proper precautions are not taken. Though this is if you can find Public Transport in the first place as the demand is as high as ever and on too top it all of exhorbitant fares are being charged too.
  • Lockdown has been implemented in various states like Maharshtra, Karnataka and parts of UP etc.
  • Various colleges like Manipal University, Xavier Institute of Management and many more have been sealed as they became CoVID hotspots.
  • CoVID cases are beginning to see a second peak and opening the college for offline classes is a grave mistake that puts the health of the students and college staff at risk.

Therefore, We(students and parents) wish that the College takes an appproriate decision in the student's best interests and commence online classes for the students.
