I have been using Airbnb since 2011.  I have 112 reviews with only two negative reviews.  I recently booked for Las Vegas a year in advance because I wanted to save money and not pay surge pricing when the CES conference happens in Las Vegas.  Airbnb didn't notify me about automatically cancelling my reservation due to a payment issue.  There reasoning is "I want to clarify that Airbnb didn't cancel your reservation intentionally. The reservation got cancelled because of the payment method not correctly updated from your end. Hence, it's not Airbnb's fault at all."

So Airbnb is blaming me and saying it wasn't intentional.  They wouldn't make up the difference for me needing to pay an extreme amount of surge pricing based on this automatic cancellation.  The property was booked immediately as a result of the high demand for those specific dates and I had to pay $300 more for a similar property, in a much worst area because none available, based on Airbnb blaming me and automatically cancelling my reservation.

Airbnb, should make a policy that calls users or notifies them about an automatic cancellation request at least 5 days in advance.  They never did that or informed me.  I am cancelling my Airbnb account today as a result unless they apologize for blaming me and/or change their policy towards automatic cancellations, and stop using "wasn't intentional" as an excuse.  Never in history since 2011 have a I requested a partial refund, and they only give me $50 to "make up" for a $300 mistake.  Insulting!
