The South Bronx has disproportionately faced higher risks from air pollution due to several key factors related to low socioeconomic status, including:

- higher exposure to harmful pollutants
- health threats 
- lack of access to health care 
- lack of access to employment opportunities 
- unsanitary workplaces 
- higher traffic exposure 
- food desert

As a group, we've decided to take collective action by (1) creating Air Quality Sensors to monitor the community's air quality, and (2) teaching individuals in our community how they can get involved and make an impact. In doing so, our community can advocate for new and healthy environmental policies that can help preserve our future!
