Provide funding to air cadets to complete scholarships at civilian flight schools.

As of April 15th, 2020, Cadets Canada has announced via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and many other social media outlets that all cadet activities will be canceled until August 31, 2020, due to the Coronavirus. Many cadets understand the circumstances and agree with the decision made by Cadets Canada.

However, many air cadets feel very unhappy that much of their learning and stress endured during this application process has gone to waste. Many cadets have spent years in their squadron's ground school and in other aviation-based summer training courses trying to get onto the Glider/Power Pilot Scholarship. For many, this is their dream to become a pilot and have dedicated their lives to this goal and to get onto this program, however, now air cadets aren't given priority to complete this program as well as not being able to continue their training as a pilot as some are leaving to post-secondary school.

I hope a resolution that could be accomplished is to give funding to air cadets, who have made it to their program of choice, funding to attend a civilian flight school to earn their wings.

Though to some, it may seem like a waste of money as we consider the amount of funding the Government of Canada has given to people who are unemployed. Being able to give flight instructors revenue could save their jobs, as well as saving much of the Canadian pilot market, which heavily relies on Cadets Canada and it's scholarships to future pilots in Air Canada, WestJet, Air Transat, Royal Canadian Air Force, etc.

This program is very important for not only the air cadets that have spent years to become pilots but also the Canadian aeronautical industry as a whole and hopes to see Cadets Canada and the DND able to give funding funds to cadets who have shown their willingness and passion for this program.

Thank you.
