AirAsia should rid off surcharges for payments using debit/credit cards

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) recently announced that retailers are not permitted to impose surcharges for payments using debit or credit cards,

It said the prohibition is provided under the Payment Card Reform Framework introduced by BNM and under the rules of international card schemes such as Visa and Mastercard.

However, AirAsia continue to practise surcharges of up to RM16 (per guest - read that again, PER GUEST).

AirAsia needs to remove these surcharges as it is in direct breach of the statement released by BNM.
