FAQs

Why didn’t you make this a citizens’ initiative (kansalaisaloite)?
Since this initiative was addressing the needs of residents and not only citizens, we decided to opt for a platform that was accessible to everyone.

Can I sign even if I am not a Finnish citizen?
Yes, we chose Change.org as a platform to allow everyone to have a say.

Why do you mention “people of multicultural background” and not simply “foreigners”?
Many of the barriers we want to address are shared by several communities beside foreign residents, including naturalised and returning Finns, Finn-Swedes, Finnish citizens with diverse ethnicity, asylum seekers.

How long will the petition be open?
Like a citizens’ initiative, we will keep it open for 6 months. However, we hope we will reach our goal of 50K signatures way before that. Please help us build momentum.

How can I contact you?
Drop us an email at iamsuomitoo@gmail.com.
