We request the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education ) and VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) of Karnataka to shut down the college - BCET(Bangalore College Of Engineering And Technology), Chandapura, Bengaluru-560099.

Most of the students studying here have come through KCET, the total first-year strength of all the departments are not more than 30 students, contrary to the student intake for each department being 60-90 numbers. Which is obviously under/lesser than the AICTE's prescribed minimum 30% of the enrollment. The classes are irregular, due to the low student strength, and many a time due to absenteeism of the lecturer; sometimes the management finds it so difficult to hire a lecturer that some subjects are wholly skipped without being taught even during examination times. Most of the faculty here are freshers directly appointed by the principal, just to cut costs. Not many faculty with good experience and a real passion for teaching works here for longer periods. The fresher faculty working here are for the sole purpose of gaining experience. Even the faculties condition are worsened when they are underpaid or delayed in their salary.

There is no use of teaching in such manner where a computer science engineering student do not know how to properly code and is soon gonna get out unemployable,so on for other departments. Staffs and faculty do not know how to use a standard language, they speak in local languages; you may sometimes even feel you are in TamilNadu. Students find it difficult coping up with the loneliness where that handful of students starts thinking about their future, worrying about being into such college.

Many students taken education loans to join this college are the most saddened, thinking of managing their family , repaying debts, finding a job are those always in the verge of falling under depression.Yes, while admissions the college lures the engineering aspirants by falsely promising them a good job-placements, hostel facility, transportation etc, the reality is that there is no sign of even a clean drinking water facility provided by the college nor clean washrooms, the classrooms are unclean, the benches are almost engulfed by dust, making anyone barely sit upon. Even an academically well-performing student right from his childhood, losses his interest in the subject and starts failing eventually.

College doesn't offer bus facilities too, a student has to use own transportation or walk to Chandapura bus stop which is 2-3 kilometers from the college. Even under such a poor environment a student mentally struggles to pass his subjects and rejoin some other college the next year, but ends up being looted by the college management for providing the transfer documents. Many economically stable and influential candidates backed out of this college at the very beginning of the college itself, many have even dared to sacrifice their one year of life by abruptly discontinuing from this college and join a degree the next wasted year. But how will a economically backward or Middle class candidate come out of this college without paying any money? They are forced to carry on all their debt and uncertainty about future all over their shoulders and continue with the same.

We request the AICTE to include the college, bearing AICTE ID - 2811999159 under the list of colleges to-only be shut down and suitable provisions be made for the students currently enrolled.
