AICTE regulations or the post of assistant professor and above positions in 2009/2010 defined that only B.Tech + M.Tech. in diffrent branches of engineering are eligible to teach in engineering colleges.
These rules were implemented in 2010 and accordingly institutes/universities stopped admissions of M.Sc. students in M.Tech. programmes. Before that, many universities , including punjab university, chandigarh were allowing m.sc. physics students to pursue m.tech. in ece.
There are several persons including me who got admission in M.Tech. ECE after M.Sc. Physics before 2009/2010. Many engineering colleges are not accepting from that date our applications as assistant professor. There are number of amendments already done in this matter by AICTE for computer science branch. Even M.Tech. ECE after M.Sc.electronics is been declared eligible, but nothing is done for M.Sc. Physics + M.Tech. ECE .
My appeal to AICTE/UGC/MHRD is to declare M.Sc. physics followed by M.Tech. ECE students eligible to teach in AICTE colleges who have got registerd before this notification.
