As you may know, Coach Norment, head football coach at Alamo Heights High School is retiring, and Randy Osborne, Offensive Coordinator, and AHHS coach for 21 years, has applied to be his successor. Randy has been a pillar of the community, and has set an outstanding example for our kids since 1998.  I have a son who went through the football program, and admired Coach Osborne tremendously. Coach Osborne was an integral part of the State Championship win in 2006. In addition, Randy has had a positive impact on so many of our students. For example, I remember my youngest daughter coming home from MIT many mornings beaming after being praised and encouraged by Coach O.  It says a lot that a football coach could impact a freshman girl so positively. I feel it would be a grave mistake to bring in a head coach from outside, when we have the most qualified and beloved choice right here in Alamo Heights. As the decision is being made, I would like to ask anyone who has strong feelings about the subject to share their support for Coach Osborne by signing this petition.
