The present pandemic situation has revealed the shortcomings and deficiencies in the current global economic, health, work, and social systems, basically at all levels, the artistic sector has not been the exception, the music sector has been severely hit by it , specifically vocal performing artists, has forced us to cancel chores in front of the public, leaving us even more vulnerable and economically affected.

 We have seen the need to change the means by which we make our living as singers, such as doing concerts, staging, online performing, classes, master classes, courses, recitals and even auditions in a virtual way.

 

 The human voice as an instrument within the field of academic music which has always had a different place than other instruments, since it is a living, flexible and sentient instrument  subject to constant changes due to its nature.

As singers we never end to continue training our training. As we mentioned previously, the current situation has highlighted the shortcomings in the musical field, many of which had already been there before all this global situation. One of them is the age gap to be able to access auditions. The training and quality of music education does not occur in the same way in all countries, some have more deficiencies than others, in some countries (usually developing countries) music education starts late and sometimes not as good as in first world countries, adding the time that takes vocal and musical learning to become competent and professional in the field, shortening in this way, the possibilities of accessing auditions for competitions, global programs for the training of singers and others, combining the differentiation or discrimination imposed on the female sex: the ages to access auditions are much shorter in women than in men.

 

 Throughout this year that the pandemic has lasted, many auditions have been canceled or postponed in a general way, leaving no future opportunities for people who were the age limits to access them because they would exceed them.

 In this way, many singers around the world ask that the age limits imposed on auditions, competitions and training programs be reconsidered, also taking into account the segregation of these by sex.

Las presente situación pandémica ha puesto en evidencia las carencias y deficiencias en los actuales sistemas globales  económicos, de salud, trabajo, sociales, básicamente a todo nivel, el sector artístico no ha sido la excepción , el sector musical ha sido duramente golpeado por el mismo,  específicamente a los artistas escénicos como cantantes de ópera y concierto, nos ha obligado a cancelar los quehaceres frente al público, dejándonos aún más vulnerables y afectados económicamente.

Nos hemos visto en la necesidad de  cambiar los medios por los que nos ganamos la vida, como hacer conciertos, puestas en escena, clases, clases magistrales, cursos, recitales e incluso audiciones de manera virtual.

La voz humana como instrumento dentro del ámbito de la música académica siempre ha tenido un lugar distinto al de otros instrumentos, pues es un instrumento vivo, flexible, sintiente y en sujeto a constantes cambios debido a la naturaleza del mismo. Como cantantes de ópera y concierto y nunca terminamos de seguir formándonos. Como mencionabamos anteriormente, la situación actual ha dejado en relieve las carencias en el ámbito musicales, muchos de los cuales ya se venían arrastrando anteriormente. Uno de ellos, es la brecha de edades para poder acceder a audiciones. La formación y calidad de enseñanza musical no ocurre de la misma manera en todos los países, algunos tienen más deficiencias que otros, en algunos países(normalmente los países en desarrollo) la enseñanza musical comienza de manera tardía y a veces no tan eficiente como en países de primer mundo, añadiéndole el tiempo que toma el aprendizaje vocal y musical para ser competente y profesional en el ámbito. Acortando de ésta manera,  las posibilidades de accesar a audiciones de concursos, programas globales de formación de cantantes y demás, sumándole la diferenciación o discriminación impuesta al sexo femenino: las edades para acceder a audiciones son mucho más cortas en mujeres que en hombres.

Durante todo este año que ha durado la pandemia se han cancelado o pospuesto muchísimas audiciones de manera general, dejando sin oportunidades futuras a los personas que estaban los límites de edad para accesar a ellas, pues excederían las mismas.

De esta manera, muchísimos cantantes alrededor del mundo pedimos que se reconsideren los límites de edad impuestos a las audiciones, concursos y programas de formación, teniendo en cuenta también la segregación de éstas por sexo.
