Against Pioneer Springs' New Dress Code

Against Pioneer Springs' New Dress Code
Why this petition matters
Pioneer Springs Community School has devleoped a newly devised dress code, and it is in complete defiance of student's wishes or suggestions. The new dress code, as well as the one prior, utterly sexualizes students and enforces derogitory notions against their bodies, specifically that of females bodies, and also asks each staff member to inspect and place punitive measures upon every individual student whom is not within this realistic dress code. The new one has inclusions that simply are derrived from ideas that are completley aimed at female students, enforcing that chests are covered from "no lower than an imaginary line between the tops of the armpits." and "see-through clothing and exposed midsections (front, back, or side) are unacceptable". While this is all problematic on its own, it also is against PSCS's values of student empowerment, holisticity, nature, and fostering their students' development as a whole.
Students have proposed essays, past petitions, and more to be granted a more leiniant and fair dress code; however, we have not been heard. At this time, PSCS has gained a larger population of students and, therefore, this issue could potentially gain a larger and much needed audience. Thank you.
If this change does not take place, students will continue to feel sexualized and staff will continue to feel uncomfortable in PSCS's created enviornment.
We ask that you sign this petition so that a change, one that is needed immediatley, can take place. We have until October 6th, when this dress code will officially be implimented, to create a change.
