Hello...my name is DJ Trini Fresh & I am a proud Afro-Caribbean.  I am seeking 1000 signatures as an official pledge that the petitioners will listen to my Radio Show if (Station Name) will grant me the airtime. As I am sure there are thousands just like me who love their culture & heritage but find there is a lack of representation for both the Caribbean and African community in Birmingham Alabama. Even though these groups are major contributors to the well being and progression of the city, in all segments, from hospitality services to educators and doctors, a continued lack of representation in the arts through music on the airways persists. If Birmingham wants to continue as the progressive city it claims to be, there needs to be some form of incorporation of the cultures on the major media outlets. This is why I believe the radio stations are a major step in this, by creating a space within their program to highlight and celebrate the music of these contributors. These spaces will not only provide representation for the Afro-Caribbean community but will also provide a platform where businesses can advertise their products and/or services and in turn spark more economic growth in these demographics.  These 1000 signatures I am seeking, will be the catalyst for an even bigger community waiting to join.
