African Solution to African Problems! African Union should mediate discussions on Nile!

The mighty Nile (Abay) is the world's longest river that passes through 11 African countries. Eventhough 85% of the river's source is in Ethiopia, Egypt managed to secure its monopoly on the river for centuries. Ethiopia tried to build a dam on the Nile since the Hailesillasies regime. However, this attempt failed mainly because of the Egyptians influence in the region.
The people of Ethiopia managed to build the dam fulfilling the recommendations and complaints raised by the Nile member nations including Egypt. However, on the brink of fulfilling this dam, the downstream countries raised complaints that may require further discussion.
The discussions are being mediated by international institutes and giant countries like the world bank and the United States of America. However, we, Ethiopians strongly believe in African solutions for African problems. Discussions on the Nile shouldn't be mediated by the World Bank or the United States of America. Africa has the African Union. So this petition is all about urging the three parties to have their discussion in African soil and be mediated by the African Union.
