The ANC government must recall Pravin Gordhan as Minister of Public Enterprises for not upholding the policy of transformation and empowerment in the South African public sector. Instead, the minister has shown disdain and total disregard at effecting the mandate of transformation.

The fast gains of affirmative action, black economic empowerment and transformation in our sectors was made possible by appointment of black African professionals, well able and qualified to lead in those positions, albeit, political pressure has at times compromised some.

Black African female executives in South Africa continue to be intellectually assaulted both in corporate and public sectors, being denied an opportunity to thrive and succeed as leaders in their own right.

This is a call for the ANC led government to immediately recall Pravin Gordhan and any other cabinet minister who is hellbent on destroying the gains of transformation in our country especially in our State Owned Enterprises..

Minister Pravin Gordhan seems to enjoy protection of captains of industries who are part of the problem, creating ceilings for black African professionals. To allow this attitude from our politicians, is to create a new imbalance that aims at pulling down black African women despite their experience and qualifications.

The silence of ANC can either mean they agree with Pravin Gordhan and captains of industry or that it does not matter for as long they continue to benefit individually.
