The Future of Africa is in Shackles

From the Save the African Youth Committee:
The 2017 CNN exposé (see link below) gave a glimpse of the modern day slave markets that are occurring in Libya. Young refugees from African countries including Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudan, Ghana and Eritrea are being sold into slavery in these open markets. Upon the exposition, the African Union (AU) and African leaders verbally addressed the issue. Yet since then, we, the African diaspora, have not seen action being taken by either group in order to stop the slave trade. We need infrastructure to be put into place in order for these young people to have the opportunity to flourish within their countries, and not feel the need to flea their homes. Thus, this is a call to action of the African leaders, the African Union, and the African diaspora:
To our African leaders: Create democratic governments in which our young people will feel heard, so they will not have to seek freedom elsewhere. The shackling of our youth will inevitably lead to the shackling of our future economies, political climates and countries in general. Each country must take the responsibility to retrieve the afflicted youth and return them back to their home country.
To the African Union: We ask that you update the diaspora on what is being done since 2017, and that you keep the African leaders accountable to making the changes needed. As we speak, the numbers of youth being entered into slavery is increasing.
To the African diaspora: Sign and share this petition in order to help us get the attention of African leaders and the AU.
Help to stop this injustice from occurring, and from our youth being swept out from under us.
