Keep the Etihad Stadium roof CLOSED for all AFL Matches

0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!

Each match day, the AFL decide whether the roof is open or closed at Etihad Stadium. When open on a sunny day, the sun is absolutely blinding to anyone seated in the southern part of the ground (Southern Cross Station side). Even when watching on TV, the sun has an enormous affect on the cameras and the dark/light change leads to periods of the coverage where players are barely visible.

Of course, the issue of players being blinded isn't lost either. The natural response is that the MCG doesn't have a roof. The MCG is differently positioned and has higher stands. This means that the sun is an issue for small amounts of time, but it doesn't affect the fans, TV coverage or the players anywhere near as much.

Tell the AFL - we have a stadium with a roof. Let's use it. Period.
