Advocating for Support of Research for RYR-1-Related Diseases (RYR-1-RD)
The Issue
The RYR-1 Foundation needs your voices to join ours to sustain funding for research on RYR-1-Related Diseases (RYR-1-RD) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Research on this rare disease is necessary to find an effective treatment or cure for RYR-1-RD. The NIH, in general, and the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), in particular, have played an important role in RYR-1-RD research.
Although we appreciate the past and current support from NIH, NINR, and other Institutes within NIH, we are concerned about the threat to funding for research on RYR-1-RD and the negative impact the loss of funding would have on affected individuals and families.
We ask that you act now and join The RYR-1 Foundation’s Board President and Co-Chair of Research, Mike Goldberg, MD, MPH, and Executive Director, Lindsay Goldberg, along with many others in the RYR-1-RD community, in signing this petition, demonstrating to NIH the importance of funding research for RYR-1-RD.
As someone affected by RYR-1-RD, Dr. Goldberg understands the importance of building a community of similarly affected individuals and families and the critical importance of research leading to scientific and medical breakthroughs.
The RYR-1 Foundation is the only organization in the world dedicated to supporting research, providing medical education, and providing patient/family support and advocacy for those in the RYR-1-RD community.
Thank you for joining us and supporting this important effort to sustain funding from NIH for research on RYR-1-RD!
