Marble Hill Community Roads

Early wet morning of Sunday - June 28, 2015, a silver Volkswagen GTI barreling southbound down Marble Hill Avenue when the driver apparently tried to squeeze between two cars that stopped at a red light on West 228th Street.

Almost a year later, no attempt to upgrade the roads on the streets of West 228th and Marble Hill Avenue and here's the list of street issue which need to be address and resolved.

 1.    Flashing Light or SLOW DOWN (glow in the dark) painted at the start of hill on Marble Hill Avenue (Located by St. Stephen's UMC). Vehicles are SPEEDING down the HILL every day from Sunrise to Sunrise.

            a. Parents/children cross these streets to and from school.
            b. Day-Care centers cross these streets to and from Local Park.
            c. Elders, Church congregations, Parents with baby carriage cross these                       streets as well.

 2.    Add DOUBLE LINES on West 228th Street (between Marble Hill Avenue and Broadway).

           a. Vehicles going WESTBOUND enter EASTBOUND lanes to                                        AGGRESSIVELY pass the slow moving traffic.

Do we wait for another car accident/victim to appear on the news or newspaper?
Do we wait for another “Promise” from our politician to fix our road?
Do drivers need to stay in their LANE?
Do we just simply sit around and do nothing?
