Andrea Solis started this petition to Adrian B. Talley- IPSD Superintendent

As many of you are aware, the District 204 Superintendent: Adrian B.Talley, recently made the decision to change the start of hybrid learning from 8:30 a.m. to 7:25 a.m. and extend periods to 70 minutes to allow students to connect with teachers, receive help, and reduce work outside of school. Although I think their motives are fair- as they will allow students to receive help, personally sitting in front of a computer screen for 4 periods with only 10-minute breaks in between is physically and emotionally draining, yet sometimes not fair due to some teachers exceeding the class time and continuing to teach even though it's time for our break, leaving us less time to distract ourselves from the screen. In addition, having to wake up earlier can affect many who work 8-hour shifts, like myself, who have to worry about waking up earlier to log on and not getting enough sleep. This affects our participation because we're tired and are trying to wake ourselves up rather than focusing on the teacher talking. Please share with your friends and family who would like the IPSD Superintendent to reconsider the start of school and leave allow it to stay at the time we had before.
