Fel mae pawb yn ymwybodol, mae Lon Bethel yn frawychus o brysur ar yr adeg mae'r ysgolion yn cychwyn a gorffen, gyda'r perygl mwyaf wastad o flaen Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen. Heb son am y nifer o geir sy'n pasio, mae rhieni hefyd yn stopio i ddanfon eu plant ac nifer fawr iawn o blant Ysgol SHO ac Ysgol y Gelli yn cerdded ar hyd y pafin.

Mae Tai Adra wedi rhoi cais cynllunio i mewn i Gyngor Gwynedd i adeiladu 17 o dai ar y darn o dir sydd dros y ffordd i'r ysgol (yr hen rhandiroedd gynt), gyda'r fynedfa i'r stad lle mae'r giat i mewn i'r cae ar y funud. Yn ein barn ni, mae lleoliad y fynedfa yn  ofnadwy o beryglus, yn enwedig o weld fod y llefydd parcio gyferbyn a'r ysgol yn mynd i fod yn cael eu symud i mewn i'r stad, sy'n golygu llawer mwy o fynd a dod o'r stad newydd allan i Lon Bethel, ar ben y trigolion newydd fydd yn byw yno'n barod. 

'Da ni fel cymuned wir yn pryderu am ddiogelwch ein plant ni. Plant Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen a phlant cynradd Ysgol y Gelli sy'n cerdded ar hyd y lon i fynd i'r ysgol. Mae unrhyw un sy'n gyrru heibio fore neu bnawn yn gallu gweld fod y sefyllfa yn beryg yn barod, gyda'r potensial i fod gymaint yn waeth.

As everyone is probably aware, Bethel Road is frighteningly busy during the school run period, with outside Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen being one of the most dangerous spots along the road. Not counting the number of traffic on the road, parents also stop to drop of their children and a great number of pupils from both Ysgol SHO and Ysgol y Gelli walk along the pavement. 

Adra housing has submitted an application to build 17 houses on the land opposite the Syr Hugh Owen school (the former allotments) with the entrance to the development being where the current entrance and gate is into the field. In our opinion, the location of the entrance is extremely dangerous, and also taking into account moving the parking bays opposite the school to be inside the estate, which will mean much more cars in and out of the estate which will be pulling out onto Bethel Road. This will be on top of the traffic the residents of the estate will be creating.

We as a community are highly worried about the safety of our children. Pupils of Ysgol SHO and Ysgol y Gelli who all either congregate or walk along the pavement. Anyone who drives past in the morning or afternoon can see how dangerous the situation is, with the potential to be so much worse. 

We're calling on Adra Housing and Cyngor Gwynedd to reconsider the entrance and the dangers our children will face, and to listen to the community that use the road on a daily basis. Please sign to show your support. Thank you
