Adoptees to get non-identifying (medical) information about birth parents
In Ireland, it is a closed adoption system so people who are adopted have no rights to know any information about their birth parents. There are adoptees in hospitals around Ireland who are seriously ill and having their medical history could help the doctors in some way to identify the cause of the problem. I am appealing to the government especially the children's minister Frances Fitzgerald to introduce a new legislation allowing adopted people to have non-identifying information about their birth parents especially and most importantly their medical history.
This is a link to an article which explains why I am requesting that this information becomes available to adoptees; http://www.independent.ie/opinion/analysis/a-change-in-the-law-could-mean-difference-between-life-and-death-29046375.html

Minister Frances Fitzgerald
I am asking the Irish government (Childrens Minister Frances Fitzgerald) to bring into law that adoptees can get non-identifying information, especially medical information about birth parents.
