Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic, Spring, 2020 was an extraordinary semester. As IBA moved classes to an online platform, the learning experiences of individual students depended heavily on the availability of appropriate hardware, reliability of internet connectivity, and uninterrupted power, among other factors, including general stress engendered by the unprecedented global health crisis. These factors have collectively resulted in uneven learning experiences.

It must also be kept in mind that due to this pandemic; we are not only suffering from the health crises but also from the global financial crises, due to a complete lockdown from the last 2 months. The students who were not under any financial aid might be suffering from the financial pressure this time.

I urge the administration to please consider lowering down the course fee for at least the summer semester. This is completely justifiable because the summer semester this time will most probably be conducted online, which means that the student body won’t be using any of the additional facilities like classrooms, library, gym, etc. We have already paid the full semester fees for spring 2020 without using these facilities for more than half of the semester, leaving additional budgets for the societies and the other departments.
