Every year, the seniors who have studied abroad throughout their undergraduate experience wear a sash on Graduation Day displaying the country they have studied abroad in. This year, Adelphi University has decided to eliminate this tradition- so the Class of 2019 are not able to be a part of this tradition and proudly wear their study abroad graduation sash. As a student who has been looking forward to this ever since I signed up for my study abroad, I cannot begin to express my disappointment and frustration. Please join me in signing this petition to attempt to have Adelphi University change their mind and allow the graduating seniors and their families be proud of their achievements and represent their hard earned work. Studying abroad is not easy- we should be able to celebrate and congratulate these students, as it is well deserved.
