The best way to keep the youth off of the streets is to create a place for them to go. Unfortunately, the City of Montgomery Ord. No. 33-2001: 26-10, prohibits basketball goals from being on city streets. Each week the City Council and MPD receive multiple complaints about kids playing in the streets, blocking traffic, balls rolling in yards, or the kids being too loud. To resolve this, I plan to transform an unused space into an outdoor basketball facility. The residents of District Six don't have a community center or YMCA within walking distance. ADEC has a grant that would support my efforts to create that space, but I need your help to get it done! By signing this petition, you will help me create a safe space for our youth.
