Why this petition matters

Started by Meg Waterman

Even though flash warnings might not seem that important to others, they can make a massive difference to people like me with epilepsy and other disorders similar to that.

After a concert in London, British girl-band SVN released a single called boss but there was one thing in particular that caught my eye from the clips and teasers on TikTok and other social platforms

As someone who’s been diagnosed with a form of photosensitive epilepsy since my young childhood, I’ve always been weary of flashing lights in various forms of media (music videos, movies, etc), So after watching the clips on TikTok I mentioned before I knew it was a good idea to stay away from the music video for my own safety. After a while it came up in a conversation with some of my friends about the video my friend brought up the fact that there was no flash warning which I hadn’t known before. This could be potentially dangerous to photosensitive viewers who don’t have the privilege of making a previous judgment on social platforms due to young age, parental restrictions, or other things that may block them from using social media.

If this petition gets enough signs I hope we can try and get SVN to see the cause and add a warning to the beginning of the video
