Add bodily autonomy, contraceptive access and medical privacy to Indiana constitution
Why this petition matters

If we the people want change, we need to take action. It is our human right to safe medical procedures and privacy. We need our representatives to hear what we want.
In 2015, I was diagnosed with precervical cancer. At that point birth control pills and an IUD had failed to work for me. I made the decision, with my doctor, to have my fallopian tubes removed. I already had two children by that time. But I did not want to take away the possibility of more children completely. That was my choice. One I wouldn't have had if there was a contraceptives ban and or an abortion ban.
I've had friends who have experienced miscarriages and a d&c was necessary to save their lives. I've also had friends who have had to deliver a stillborn fetus. If there was an abortion ban, they would have faced prosecution and possible jail time for something completely out of their control. They wanted those babies so much. I watched/stood by them as they grieved for those babies. I'd have hated it worse if they had to do it alone behind bars.
We the people of Indiana deserve to have our voices heard. We have seen so far that our representatives are not listening to us. Our protests are not being heard. Now is our time to show them we will not sit quietly by. Sign this petition today to tell our Representatives we want the right to bodily autonomy, right to contraceptive access, and medical privacy in our state constitution.
